Join the Antagonist Games Writing Team
At Antagonist Games, Inc., we are always looking for talented writers to contribute to our tabletop RPG content, setting expansions, game mechanics, and narrative-driven projects. If you’re passionate about world-building, storytelling, and game design, we’d love to hear from you!
We believe in fair pay for creative work and offer competitive market rates based on industry standards. Below, you’ll find our guidelines for submission, expectations, and payment structure.
What We’re Looking For
We publish a variety of tabletop RPG products, including:
- Game mechanics & rules expansions (Alloy System™ supplements, adventure modules)
- Setting guides (lore, factions, city descriptions, world-building elements)
- Adventure modules & one-shot scenarios
- Character backstories, dialogue, and narrative elements
- Short fiction & serialized RPG fiction
Our writing must be engaging, immersive, and mechanically sound. All submissions should be formatted professionally, free of typos, and adhere to our system mechanics when relevant.
Payment & Rates
We pay industry-standard rates for RPG writing. Rates vary depending on experience, project complexity, and length. Below are our general pay scales:
Freelance Writing Rates

| Adventure Modules & Scenarios | $0.06 – $0.12 per word |
| Mechanics & Rules Writing | $0.08 – $0.15 per word |
| Short Fiction & Serialized RPG Fiction | $0.04 – $0.08 per word |
| Editing & Revisions | $30 – $50 per hour |
- New writers typically start at the lower end of the scale.
- Experienced writers or those with established RPG credits may negotiate higher rates.
- Payments are made via PayPal, direct deposit, or other agreed-upon methods.
Submission Guidelines
1. Query First
Before submitting, please send a brief pitch to contact@antagonist.games with:
- A short summary of your idea (150 words or less)
- Your writing experience & RPG credits (if applicable)
- A writing sample (preferably RPG-related)
2. Formatting Requirements
- Use 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font
- Submit as a Google Doc or Word file (.docx)
- Double-spaced, with proper headings and formatting
- Game mechanics submissions should follow Alloy System™ structure and style
3. Revisions & Editing
Accepted work may go through an editing and feedback process. Writers should be open to making necessary revisions to align with our system and editorial standards.
Rights & Licensing
- Writers retain authorship credit for their work.
- Antagonist Games, Inc. purchases exclusive publishing rights for a specified term (detailed in the contract).
- After the agreed-upon term, writers may re-publish or resell their work with proper attribution.
