VEST Paradox

There are several Mystical Skills that exist outside the boundaries of general or combat skills. Some may be combat oriented, or at least used in combat, but they are not combat specific. These skills will all be listed here instead of being among the normal skill lists. Please note that some are very specific in who can purchase these skills while others aren't The specifics will be listed within the group for that skill.Note about Mystical Skills and Discipline: (The Bonus to Discipline from Mystical Skills have been removed to reflect the change in Fighting Styles, sicne that was the primary reason for them existing.)
Magi Skills
All Magi must purchase three Skills in order to bring forth their spells. These are Casting, Range, and Duration. Level one in each skill comes free with your Breed change, after that you must buy them up with experience. If you are a mortal with Innate Magic as a Mastery, you must also purchase these, though you do not get any free levels. Only Magi and Mortals with Innate Magic can purchase these skills.
Casting (Soul)
Generation Cost: 2 points per level
Experience Cost: Medium
Roll System: 2d6 + Discipline + Casting vs:
2d6 + Will (Mental)
2d6 + Dodge (Directed)
2d6 + Quickness (Area Effect)
Description: The Magi uses this power to weave the patterns of his Masteries. The time it takes for the effects pattern to be spun into the Weave depends on what level of this skill. Every level beyond level 8 is just to determine success, the casting time never drops lower.Level 1 – 2 rounds
Level 4 – 1 round
Level 8 – InstantRange (Soul)
Generation Cost: 2 points per level
Experience Cost: Medium

Description: This Skill determines how far from his own body the Magi can extend his magic. Some masteries may require a higher level of Range being purchased (see also, most Bolt spells)Level 1 – Self
Level 3 – Touch
Level 6 – 3 Meters
Level 9 – 15 Meters
Level 12 – Line of SightDuration (Soul)
Generation Cost: 2 points per level
Experience Cost: Medium
Description: This Skill allows the Magi to extend the time in which his spells will last. Each level learned allows the Magi to affect something for a longer period of time as he learns to lock things onto a targets pattern.Level 1 – 1 Round
Level 3 – 2 Rounds
Level 5 – 3 Rounds
Level 7 – 1 Scene / 4 Rounds
Level 9 – 2 Scenes / 8 Rounds

Psion Skills
All Psion must purchase three Skills in order to bring forth their Talents. These are Focus, Extension, and Density. Level one in each skill comes free with your Breed change, after that you must buy them up with experience. If you are a mortal with Innate Psi as a Mastery, you must also purchase these, though you do not get any free levels. Only Psions and Mortals with Innate Psi can purchase these skills.Focus (Mind)

2d6 + Quickness (Area Effect)
Description: The Psion uses this discipline to focus his thoughts and shape the Psi in himself to take the forms he desires. The time it takes for the Psi to be formed within his mind depends on what level of this skill. Every level beyond level 8 is just to determine success, the casting time never drops lower.Level 1 – 2 rounds

Description: This Skill determines how far from his own body the Psion can send the Psi Energy he harnesses. Some masteries may require a higher level of Range being purchased (see also, most Psi Bolts)Level 1 – Self

Density (Mind)
Generation Cost: 2 points per level
Experience Cost: Medium
Description: This Skill determines how solid the Psi focus is and how long it will last. Each level learned allows the Psion to affect something for a longer period of time as he learns to push his own creation into the Psi inherant to the target.Level 1 – 1 Round
Level 3 – 2 Rounds
Level 5 – 3 Rounds
Level 7 – 1 Scene / 4 Rounds
Level 9 – 2 Scenes / 8 Rounds

If you are a mortal with Innate Gifts as an Ability, you must also purchase these, though you do not get any free levels. Only Disciples and Mortals with Innate Gifts can purchase these skills.Hope (Soul)

Description: The Disciple uses his hope to draw upon the Gifts of the Spirit that he has been taught and through faith bring them into reality. The time it takes for the Gift to become real depends on what level of this skill is known. Every level beyond level 8 is just to determine success, the casting time never drops lower.Level 1 – 2 rounds

Description: This Skill determines how far from his own body the Disciple can allow his gifts to manifest. Some Gifts may require a higher level of Range being purchased.Level 1 – Self

Piety (Soul)
Generation Cost: 2 points per level
Experience Cost: Medium
Description: This Skill determines how long the Disciples Gifts of the Spirit will last. Each level learned allows the Disciple to affect something for a longer period of time as their Piety continues to channel the power from on high through them.Level 1 – 1 Round
Level 3 – 2 Rounds
Level 5 – 3 Rounds
Level 7 – 1 Scene / 4 Rounds
Level 9 – 2 Scenes / 8 Rounds
